SOCIAL HISTORY

Joan has had a cruel dose of life’s brutalities. At an early age she was forced to part from her mother due to the harsh living conditions they were trapped in. When she came to the Nest, her little body was beyond malnourished and bore abuse marks. Watching her now, her eyes shimmer with life and hope. All that remains for her life to be whole again is for her to be re-united with her mother. Luckily for Joan, this is possible as her mother has been rehabilitated and trained but we need to help her start up a small business that will be able to sustain her and Joan. Any contribution you can give to Joan will give her a chance of having a normal childhood and a family.

SOCIAL HISTORY

Imagine fending for yourself at the tender age of 2 or 4 or 6 or 9 or 11. Playing the role of mother and father to your siblings at the age of only 11? That’s the life Mary, Kenneth, John, George and Magdaline found themselves in when their mother was forced to flee from their home, leaving them all alone. Luckily for them destiny’s course led them to the Nest where they can be children again. There mother searched endlessly for them and has finally found them, touching us with her distressing story and strength in restructuring her and her children’s lives. She struggled immensely and has managed to start a small business that will provide for her children and herself but not enough to cater for the children’s vital need for education and good healthcare. Without these vital needs we fear for the children’s chance at having a future, kindly help give them a chance at being a family and a chance for a better future.

Her mother managed to get Rosemary into our care, under constant fear of the treacherous things that could befall Rosemary if she didn’t get to the Nest sooner. On her arrival the first thing we detected was her bright, witty mind and the large untapped potential that lay within. She is busying herself right now, in preparation for her KCPE exams but being an internally displaced child she desperately needs sponsorship for her to continue schooling which she has grown to love and you should see her big, bright smile as she shares with us how well she is excelling.

Let’s keep the hope burning in them by sponsoring their education, giving them a chance in success.
